I am a lifelong Levittown resident and have dedicated my career to public service, protecting taxpayers and helping families across the Town of Hempstead.
Before being elected town clerk in 2019, I served as the first woman elected Hempstead town supervisor from 2003 to 2016, and earlier as the first female representative for New York’s 19th Assembly District. I was also the first woman elected Hempstead town clerk during my first term from 2002 to 2003.
Prior to holding elected office, I worked as an assistant attorney general in the Criminal Justice Section, handling prisoner litigation and as an advocate for victims of domestic violence with the Suffolk University Battered Women’s Advocacy Project.
I also served as vice president of Institutional Advancement at Nassau Community College and as deputy county clerk for Nassau County.
I am a graduate of Boston College and Suffolk University Law School. Over the years, I have remained active in community organizations, including the Nassau County Bar Association, Levittown Kiwanis, Levittown Historical Society, Levittown Community Council, Friends of the Hofstra Arboretum, and the Bellmore-Merrick Wellness Council, among others.
Why I’m Running
I am running for re-election as Town Clerk to continue delivering high-quality, modern services while keeping costs low for residents. Throughout my career, my guiding principle has been to help others — whether advocating for victims of domestic violence, improving town programs, or managing America’s largest township with efficiency and integrity.
I am committed to keeping the Town of Hempstead affordable, safe, and family-friendly, while modernizing and enhancing services so they are convenient and accessible to all residents.
Top Priorities
1. Taxes: Delivering more while spending less
I am committed to providing residents with top-notch services while keeping costs under control. By working closely with Supervisor John Ferretti and the town board, we proposed a tax cut for 2026, ensuring residents get the best services at the lowest possible cost.
Through careful budgeting and cost-saving initiatives, the town clerk’s office continues to operate efficiently while maintaining and enhancing essential programs.
2. Safety: Protecting families and residents
The safety of our residents is always a priority. I spearheaded two widely used public safety programs: the Child I.D. Safety Program, which can be lifesaving in the event a child goes missing, and the Senior Safety I.D. Program, which provides first responders with critical information during medical emergencies.
I work closely with Supervisor Ferretti, County Executive Bruce Blakeman, and District Attorney Anne Donnelly to support our police, safeguard families, and maintain the Town of Hempstead as part of America’s safest county.
3. Maintaining and enhancing services
I am committed to modernizing and improving services for residents while keeping them affordable. The LIRR Commuter Parking Permit program is now automated, making it faster and easier for commuters while reducing costs.
Our one-stop passport service simplifies travel for residents, and our expanded marriage section offers beautiful and affordable destination wedding options. I will continue adapting the Town Clerk’s office to meet the evolving needs of the community, providing quality services efficiently and effectively.
