Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace celebrated the grand opening of its Bohemia store — its eighth on Long Island — Nov. 14 with giveaways, a 900-pound log of Provolone, and donating 200 turkeys to Island Harvest.
A singer serenaded shoppers with Frank Sinatra and Bobby Darren tunes after the owners hosted the ribbon-cutting ceremony ushered in the latest location of the tri-state area’s leading Italian specialty food store with custom-made-to-order cannolis as well as dozens of homemade items such as breads, fresh mozzarella, and Italian delicacies being made from scratch.
Uncle Giuseppe’s has 11 locations across New York and New Jersey, with three new stores opening in Bohemia, Greenvale, and Levittown.
On hand for the grand opening were Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace founders Carl DelPrete and Tom Barresi and Island Harvest CFO Brian Leidy.
In the year ahead, Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace, plans to welcome more than 1,000 new employees as it opens new stores in Bohemia, Greenvale, and Levittown. The company will host companywide Hiring Days on the First Saturday of every month, offering open interviews for all positions including pizza and pasta makers, bakery and deli team, meat and seafood team, and more across all locations.
