Loggia Glen Cove, Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America, gathered on Wednesday, March 3, for its annual Installation of Officers ceremony, welcoming members, community leaders and guests for a night that blended tradition, fellowship and celebration.
The event brought together lodge members, friends, neighbors, elected officials and representatives of the order from across the state, reflecting the strong sense of community that has long defined the lodge.
At the center of the evening was the installation of the lodge’s leadership team for the 2026–2027 term.
Taking the oath of office were President Raphael “Ralph” Ciano, 1st Vice President Rocco Totino, 2nd Vice President Dr. Charles Gambino, Immediate Past President Marisa Cipriano Gambino, Orator Mike Stanco, Recording Secretary Pam Shaddock, Financial Secretary Peter O’Connor, Corresponding Secretary Christina Abbondandolo and Treasurer Santina Gilio, each stepping forward to help guide the lodge in the year ahead.
Trustees installed for the new term include Mark Galluccio, Ivonne Ciano, Ginger Hartney, Nives Mattiasich, Anthony Celifarco, Angelo Stanco, Domenick Stanco, Michael Gadaleta and Angelo Grande.
Ceremonial officers include Gaitley Stevenson-Mathews and Andrea Gallo, and sentinels include Larraine Tassis and Luigi Saviano.
Members of the Arbitration Committee include Al DeBlasio, Saverio Gallace, Anthony Ceriello, Janice Ceriello and Joseph A. Gallo.
Alternate Arbitration Committee members include Kathryn Grande, Rocco DiSibio, Josephine DiSibio and Frank Stanco.
Glen Cove Mayor Pam Panzenbeck praised the lodge’s continued contributions to the community.
“Loggia Glen Cove represents a proud tradition in our city,” Panzenbeck said. “Congratulations to President Ralph Ciano, Immediate Past President Marisa Cipriano Gambino and the officers. Their dedication helps ensure the lodge’s legacy of heritage and service continues for future generations.”
Ciano said he looks forward to working alongside the lodge’s officers and members in the year ahead.
“I’m proud to take on this role and work with such a dedicated group of officers and members,” Ciano said. “Loggia Glen Cove has always been about friendship, service and celebrating our heritage, and I look forward to helping carry that forward.”
Gambino also reflected on the past two years of leadership.
“It was an honor to serve as president of Loggia Glen Cove,” Gambino said. “Our members care deeply about our heritage, our friendships, and our role in the community. I’m proud of the work we’ve done together.”
Local elected officials and community leaders were also present to recognize the lodge and its leadership, including Glen Cove Mayor Pam Panzenbeck, who presented a citation on behalf of the City of Glen Cove, Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton, who presented a citation on behalf of the Nassau County Legislature, Glen Cove City Council Members John Zozzaro and John Perrone, who presented a citation on behalf of Assemblymember Charles Lavine, Glen Cove Council Member Daniele Fugazy Scagliola, who presented a citation on behalf of Congressman Tom Suozzi, and Glen Cove Council Members Grady Farnan and Michael Ktistakis, who presented a citation on behalf of Supervisor Joseph Saladino and the Town of Oyster Bay.
Also presenting a citation was John Canning on behalf of Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman and Nassau County.
Members of the local judiciary were also present, including Judge Joe Capobianco and Judge Ellen Savino, along with Dr. Maxine Mayreis, President of the Glen Cove Chamber of Commerce.
The history of Loggia Glen Cove stretches back to April 10, 1920. As the oldest Sons and Daughters of Italy lodge on Long Island, it continues to play a meaningful role in preserving Italian-American heritage while supporting community programs and charitable initiatives throughout the region.
The ceremony marks the beginning of a new chapter for Loggia Glen Cove, as its newly installed officers and leaders prepare to guide the lodge in the coming year.
