Incumbent mayors, deputy mayors, trustees and village justices, all running unopposed, won village elections in Williston Park and Mineola on Wednesday, March 18, according to village clerks.

In Williston Park, Mayor Paul Ehrbar, Deputy Mayor Kevin Rynne, Trustee William O’Brien and Village Justice Kevin Kiley all won reelection, Village Clerk Kristi Romano said.

Ehbrar received 327 votes, Rynne received 331, O’Brien got 324 and Kiley had the highest number of votes at 335. There were 26 write-in votes across all contests, according to Romano’s voting totals.

Romano said turnout was higher than in previous years and that the village has just over 5,400 eligible voters

“I think over the years, myself and the board have accomplished a lot in the village, and we hope to continue to do so,” said Ehrbar, who has been mayor since 2010. “We have a very dedicated, committed board. We all work together well.”

Pereira, Sartori, and Clark ran with the Mineola New Line Party, which Sartori describes as focused on reinvigorating the business district.

“I want to focus more on making Mineola, and our downtown especially, into more of a destination,” Pereira, entering his second term, said in a previous interview. “We’ll also focus on our infrastructure, predominantly water and sewer, to make sure they are meeting the demands and expectations of our residents and our business community.”

Sartori, also entering her second term, said the board has implemented strong community-building measures that strengthen the business district during her time as a trustee. “Great things are happening in Mineola, and we’ve only just begun,” she said.

“I’m very pleased and thankful to the voters of Mineola for reflecting me,” Fairgrieve, who has lived in the village since 1978, said. “I look forward to serving in my capacity to provide justice for all in a very fair and competent manner.”
