After serving as Governor of California for eight years, Arnold Schwarzenegger is finally ready to make his return to the silver screen.
In a tweet from Schwarzenegger himself, he said: “Exciting news. My friends at CAA have been asking me for 7 years when they can take offers seriously. Gave them the green light today.”
While Schwarzenegger was playing the role of Governor for the last eight years, he was not completely out of the movie game.
During his time in office, Schwarzenegger made cameos in several movies, including 2010’s “The Expendables.”
His return to the screen as a lead role is not unexpected, however.
Schwarzenegger was set to re-appear in the movie “Predators,” directed by Robert Rodriguez and released in 2010, but his duties as governor took him out of the movie.
No word on what Schwarzenegger wants to star in, but he did drop a hint that a screenplay he read before 2003 seemed to be most intriguing.
