How to pay “Wholesale” For College
Andrew Lockwood, J.D., an attorney turned certified college planner, author and owner of a college financial consulting firm in Plainview, will conduct lectures on controversial, closely-guarded “insider secrets” of college financial aid. Lockwood plans to disclose four little known “loopholes” buried in the Department of Education’s financial aid regulations that could help families – particularly upper-middle class families, small business owners and divorced families – save 33 percent or more off the cost of college. Topics include: How families earning six figure incomes can slash college costs by tens of thousands of dollars; The biggest mistake 53 percent of eligible families make… and how to avoid it; The strange, counter-intuitive reason why an expensive, high “sticker price” college can cost less out of pocket than a “cheaper” public university; Last minute legal and ethical tactics you can use to multiply your eligibility for grants and scholarships; How to improve a stingy financial aid award. The lecture is entirely free and absent of any pressure or obligation and will be held at 7 p.m. at the Mid-Island Y JCC, Plainview. Space is limited to a maximum of 27 families each. Preregister by visiting www.AndyLockwood.com or by calling 847-2508.
