On Thursday, August 18 at 4 a.m., an alarm went off at East Shore Road in Great Neck. Police arrived at the scene to find a broken glass window. The officers immediately canvassed the area and found John Timpa, 43, of Bellerose Village walking in a suspicious area that is mainly industrial with no pedestrian traffic during that time of day. The defendant also had visible lacerations to his arms and face. Following an investigation, Timpa was also identified on video surveillance entering the building as well as identified through a second video surveillance entering another business at 3:10 a.m. on Northern Blvd in Manhasset.
The defendant is charged with two counts of Burglary and was arraigned on August 19 at First District Court in Hempstead.
