According to Huffington Post, the film follows a crew of the spaceship Prometheus in 2085 as they explore alien civilization in search of the origins of humanity.
“Big things have small beginnings,” says one character in the new trailer that debuted this past week. The new trailer first debuted at WonderCon in Anaheim, California Saturday and amps up excitement for the upcoming film.
In the trailer, hieroglyphs are discovered at numerous locations including Earth that appear to link life throughout the universe. The crew sets out, according to EW, to find the location of some alien civilization. “They want us to come find them,” says one character in the trailer.
Reportedly, the crew then journeys to the planet to explore the ancient alien civilization only to find an entity that threatens humanity.
The movie comes from Ridley Scott and stars Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Noomi Rapace, Guy Pearce, Logan Marshall-Green and Michael Fassbender.
“Prometheus” reportedly was conceived as a prequel to Scott’s “Alien” movie from 1979 though Scott has said the film shares strands of “Alien” DNA, it explores its own mythology and ideas.
