The Over the Hill Gang (OTHG) softball league would like to thank the Farmingdale community, dedicated volunteers and elected officials for making our annual fundraiser a huge success.
It was one of the largest turnouts the league has seen as thousands of dollars were raised for Jimmy Ossenfort and his family. Jimmy is recovering from an auto accident. The night was a mixture of softball, music and neighborhood camaraderie.
Rick Kopitsch introduced Johnny Ray who entertained the crowd with delightful music all night. Farmingdale American Legion Post 449 presented as Color Guard, and Kara Minnichiello sang the national anthem. Legislator Joe Belesi and Town Councilman Tony Macagnone were also in attendance. League President Jim Reilly thanked the players and volunteers for their contributions.
The OTHG Charity Committee is led by Christine Restani, Nancy Maghakian, Kathrine Winkler, Marty and Liz Teturris, Joe and Vicki Cordi, Ed Reilly, Jillean Reilly, and Mike Colecchia. Thanks also to many young volunteers who served pizza, popcorn, cotton candy, peanuts and soda. More than 70 prizes were handed out to lucky winners including Bar Boy manager Ken Kohlman who won the 55” flat screen TV.
Finally, the league thanks John Venditto and the Town of Oyster Bay for the “Show Mobile” as well as Allen Park manager Bill Murray, Asst. Kathy Graham and their staff led by Chris Lopinto and Ian Kornfeld.
