Plainview Little League Challenger Division recently had its opening day. Children with special needs from around the area participate in this program that gives them a chance to play ball. The opening event was attended by local dignitaries, including Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor John Venditto, District Court Judge Rhonda Fischer, Oyster Bay Town Councilwoman Rebecca Alesi,Nassau County Comptroller George Maragos and Nassau County Legislator Judy Jacobs.
