Eagle Scout Targets E-Waste

Eagle Court next month

Eagle Scout Eamonn Lennon from Troop 298 in New Hyde Park is currently working on a Boy Scout Special Award called the William T. Hornaday Award which is designed to contribute to sound conservation and environmental improvement in the local community, eliminating electronic waste. Lennon held a local event and collected 3,000 pounds of electronics that will be recycled in the Town of North Hempstead.

E- waste contains  lead, mercury, arsenic, and other hazardous toxins that can seep into the ground water if these materials are landfilled and not safely disposed of.

Lennon is having his Eagle Court of Honor Sept. 22 at Holy Spirit Church.
