Thirty-one Plainview-Old Bethpage sixth grade science students recently attended the Brookhaven National Laboratory’s Center for Functional Nanomaterials to become scientists for a day and learn about nanotechnology — the study of manipulating matter at an atomic or molecular level. Students had the opportunity to meet nanoscientists, tour the state-of-the-art facility and participated in a hands-on laboratory session.
