Mary Elizabeth Quinn, 90 of Carbondale, Penn. and Manhasset residing in Greenwich, Conn. passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2014.
She was born in Carbondale, Penn. on January 12, 1924 to Florence and William Colligan. Mary receive a degree in nursing from St. Catherine’s School of Nursing in Brooklyn, N.Y. and went on to work as a registered nurse for Joseph Seagrams & Sons in New York City. She married James J. Quinn on June 2, 1956 and lovingly raised his daughter Denise. On April 24, 1963 Mary gave birth to her beloved son James.
Mary was a kind outgoing soul and always a ray of light to her family a friends. Her sparkling personality shined during her time as President of the North Strathmore Woman’s Club in 1971. Mary is remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend and nurse. Her dedication to family and friends was unending.
Mary Elizabeth Quinn is survived by her son James P. Quinn, grandchildren Jimmy, Christine, and Ryan Quinn, Jimmy Kelly, and Karen Dubovick, and great-grandchildren Hannah, Grace, James, Pierce and Ross Dubovick, Caroline Kelly and Quinn Kelly.
A wake was held Thursday the 29th of May 2014 at Leo P. Gallagher Funeral Home, 31 Arch Street, Greenwich, CT. Funeral Mass took place on Friday, May the 30, 2014 in St. Mary’s Church, 178 Greenwich Avenue, Greenwich, Conn.
