WinthropHospitalWinthrop-University Hospital’s Perspectives in Health series and The Long Island Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation will co-sponsor a free program, “Medicine, Vitamins, Nutrition & Arthritis: Fact vs. Fiction,” on Thursday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m. The program will be held at the Mineola Community Center, 155 Washington Avenue in Mineola, located one block south of Jericho Turnpike, between Mineola Boulevard and Willis Avenue.

Physicians from Winthrop’s Arthritis and Rheumatic Disease Center – Steven Carsons, MD; Elise Belilos, MD; Kristina Belostocki, MD; and Gary Rosenblum, DO – will outline the role of diet, as well as medication, in the management of a variety of rheumatic diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, gout, and osteoporosis.  New developments in arthritis medication will also be discussed.  A question and answer period will follow.

 Attendees are asked to arrive at 6:45 p.m. for registration. Parking is adjacent to the building. Seating is limited and pre-registration is required. To reserve a space, please call 663-3916.
