There is a new state-of-the-art AT&T store in Albertson and store owner Michael Sacco is hoping it will be as successful as his Franklin Square location. The store at 955 Willis Ave. has all the latest technologically advanced wireless phones on sale as well as other devices.

Sacco, who grew up in Elmont, has been in the wireless technology business for 15 years. He started out with a friend of his selling beepers in a home office and eventually branched out to cellular phones when the items starting becoming popular.

He hopes the same success in Franklin Square will continue with his new store in Albertson.

“With our new store in Albertson I am hoping to establish a presence in the community and develop relationships with people like we have in our Franklin Square store,” said Sacco. “I want us to have repeat customers and people to know our employees on a first-name basis.”

Sacco and his staff, which include store manager, Christian Rivera and salesperson, Louis Del Monte, are taking over the store recently owned by a husband-and-wife team.

“We want to bring a new energy and bring a different feel to the store, maybe help some people who felt like they weren’t serviced properly before,” said Sacco. “I think the previous owners just outgrew the business because it is a pretty taxing business.”

The newly owned store has plenty of live devices on hand and a state-of-the-art look to its interior. Popular items such as tablets are offered, as well as mobile hotspot devices. A new home security device, called Digital Life, is also available.

“It is a great system that you can control from your smartphone or tablet,” said Sacco of the Digital Life device. “You can unlock the door to your house or garage with this system and I think we’ll see a lot of these type of devices in the future.”

Currently the store has a great deal, which includes a $20 tempered glass screen cover for anyone who is upgrading their current device.

A free LG or Samsung tablet is also being offered to customers as part of the AT&T Next package, which is an installment plan upgrade.
The new AT&T store hours are Monday to Thursday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
