Manhasset resident Dr. Matthew Ackert has been named President of the Medical Board at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn. Dr. Ackert is a board certified anesthesiologist who has worked in Queens and Brooklyn for the past 27 years. He became Chairman of Anesthesiology at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in July 2011, where he also chairs the perioperative and credentials committees. Dr. Ackert serves on the Board of Managers at the Ridgewood YMCA with another Manhasset resident, Dr. Sanjivan Patel, a neonatologist. They, along with fellow board members, are working to develop a relationship between Wyckoff Heights Medical Center and the Ridgewood YMCA that will benefit the health and well-being of the surrounding communities. Dr. Ackert has been a resident of Manhasset for over 20 years and raised two children here. He is a lector at the Church of St. Mary and is involved with Boy Scout Troop 97, where his son Ben is currently a Life Scout. Dr. Ackert still enjoys helping the Cub Scouts with their Pinewood Derby cars.
