On Saturday evening, Sept. 5, Temple Judea of Manhasset will hold a Selichot service that both honors the twentieth century of its Holocaust Resource Center, while welcoming Irving Roth, founding director of the center, who will speak on BDS (Boycott, Divestment & Sanctions) and its implications for Israel.
The evening will begin at 8 p.m. with a dessert collation and a tour of the resource center, followed at 9 p.m. with the service and program in the center. All present will have the opportunity to view the permanent historical exhibits and the ever changing contemporary art exhibits.
Selichot is a time of introspection leading up to the Jewish New Year. It is a perfect opportunity for congregants to reflect on the past and look forward ensuring the future of the Jewish people. Rabbi Todd Chizner and Cantor Abbe Sher will lead the congregation in the evening’s events.
