The Rushmore Avenue School community welcomed Catherine M. Silletti as its new principal beginning the 2016-17 school year.
Silletti most recently served as an assistant principal at the East Northport Middle School since 2013. Prior to her time in the Northport-East Northport School District, Silletti spent nearly 20 years at Merrick Avenue Middle School as a social studies teacher, and continued teaching while also serving as the school’s dean of discipline since 2005.
Silletti, who lives in Huntington, holds a bachelor’s degree in history and a master’s degree in social studies, both from Adelphi University; and an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Educational Leadership from SUNY Stony Brook.
