New bookshelves and comfy seating are now available to the students of Abbey Lane Elementary School in the Levittown School District as the community cut the ribbon on a newly renovated library on Nov. 21.
Third graders gathered in front of the library, and students Easton Sewitch and Kate Bennett held the red ribbon while administrators used giant scissors to signal the grand opening.
Inside, students were greeted by dozens of books teasing their next literary adventure. They were treated to a guided reading session by Deputy Superintendent Beth Zirogiannis, who read “The Littlest Yak.”
Abbey Lane’s library will be the center of many instructional lessons that help boost students’ love of reading.
