Roslyn villages set for uncontested elections

Residents of Roslyn and neighboring villages will head to the polls Wednesday, March 18, for uncontested village elections, casting their ballots to fill trustee and mayoral positions in four Long Island communities.

In the Village of Roslyn, longtime Deputy Mayor Marshall Bernstein will not seek reelection after decades of service. Bernstein was first elected as a trustee in 1996 and has served as deputy mayor since 2006, playing a key role in overseeing local governance, zoning decisions, and community programs.

The open trustee seat is slated to be filled by Leslie Fitzpatrick, a newcomer running unopposed. 

Also on the ballot is incumbent Trustee Craig Westergard, who is seeking reelection. Westergard, a seasoned architect with more than 30 years of experience, has worked on a variety of projects spanning high-end residential, commercial, and retail architecture throughout the North Shore of Long Island. Beyond his professional career, Westergard is actively engaged in the community, organizing walking tours of Roslyn’s historic district and providing detailed descriptions of the historical significance of buildings throughout the village.

Roslyn residents will vote in the Nathan Stern Community Room at Village Hall, 1200 Old Northern Blvd. from noon to 9 p.m.

In the Village of Roslyn Harbor, Trustee Abby Kurklender will step down, leaving an open seat that will be filled by Lauren Archer, a financial services professional. Incumbent Trustee James Friscia is also running for reelection.

Roslyn Harbor residents can cast their ballots at Village Hall, 500 Motts Cove Road South, from noon to 9 p.m.

Roslyn Estates will also hold elections on March 18 at Village Hall, 25 The Tulips from noon to 9 p.m.

Up for reelection are Deputy Mayor Brian Feingold and Trustee Stephen Fox. Feingold is an internal medicine physician at NYU Langone Ambulatory Care in Lake Success, specializing in chronic disease management, preventive care, and wellness programs. He emphasizes a holistic approach to patient care, focusing on long-term relationships with his patients. 

Fox is a partner at the Uniondale office of the law firm Ruskin Moscou Faltischek. With more than 25 years of experience as a corporate and securities lawyer, Fox has advised strategic and financial clients across industries ranging from technology to media and entertainment. He has led hundreds of transactions, ranging from small deals to billion-dollar deals, and serves as Co-Chairman of the firm’s International Practice Group.

The Village of Flower Hill will hold elections at Village Hall, 1 Bonnie Heights Road, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Mayor Randall Rosenbaum, who has served since 2022 and previously as deputy mayor and trustee, is seeking reelection, along with Trustees Gary Lewandowski, Claire Dorfman, and A.J. Smith. Lewandowski is an architect and principal of N2 Design+Architecture PC. Dorfman serves as senior manager of public policy at Amazon, while Smith, a Long Island trial lawyer, is a founding partner of Baxter & Smith and is known for mentoring young attorneys alongside his litigation practice.
