A recent analysis of several of Nostradamus’ quatrains has many now believing that the legendary prophet has also indeed predicted billionaire-turned-realty TV personality-turned-U.S. President-Elect Donald Trump’s stunning clenching of the 2016 presidential election—as well as its apocalyptic aftermath.

Former Nassau County Executive Thomas Suozzi defeated New York State Sen. Jack Martins (R-Old Westbury) in the most closely watched Congressional race on Long Island Tuesday night, winning the seat being vacated by retiring Rep. Steve Israel (D-Huntington).

A lot has changed in less than a month. The former senator from New York and U.S. Secretary of State has built a seemingly commanding lead. Remarkably, she has made historically “red” states like Arizona and Utah competitive. Even Trump's lead in the GOP stalwart state of Texas, which Republican Mitt Romney won by nearly 16 points in 2012, has been shaved to only six points.

The Long Island Press will be updating, Tweeting, Facebooking all day as the world awaits one of the most anticipated debates in history. According to several reports, this could be the most watched debate in history and rival Super Bowl ratings.

Long Island delegates cheered Hillary Clinton's nomination during the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday night. Former President Bill Clinton's speech, in which he weaved together the couple's personal life with his wife's professional accomplishments, was well received.

The reality TV star formally received the presidential nomination when the Republican National Committee, through some creative maneuvering, allowed New York State to pledge its delegates out of order. Donald Trump will formally accept the nomination during a speech on Thursday. Trump's nod fueled supporter celebrations and concerns among some religious and immigration groups.

On Sunday, 50 people were shot in Orlando. And my priorities came into focus. I am a one-issue voter. My issue is guns. My candidate is Hillary. As she stands to accept the nomination as the first woman ever to become the presidential candidate of a major political party in the United States, it occurs to me that Hillary is not just the best candidate despite being a woman, but because she is.
