Recreation Dance Conservatory Holds Annual Performance

The Garden City Recreation Dance Conservatory held its annual Showcase Friday, June 5, at Adelphi University’s beautiful Olmstead Theater.

It was a memorable evening as the dancers performed to a sold out audience of over 300. The company members ranged from 8 years old to adult and showed off their talents in various dance forms, including ballet, tap, hip-hop, jazz and modern dance. The dances included choreographed works by Felicia Lovaglio, Mary Searson, Amanda Fiorentine, Gina Nicole Caputo, Emily Grant and Emily Garra.

This dance program would not be possible without the support of Kevin Ocker and the Garden City Recreation Department. The dance program is under the direction of Felicia Lovaglio, an adjunct professor of dance and theater at Adelphi University. The Garden City Recreation Conservatory is a non-recital based program with company rehearsals scheduled after dance class ends. Everyone who would like to be in the showcase may perform any dance they choose. These dancers work very hard and enjoy their fellow dancers while having fun.
