Actress Elisha Cuthbert will grace television screens again Wednesday night.

The former “24” and “Girl Next Door” starlet reemerges into the limelight with her new romantic comedy series, “Happy Endings,” which premieres on ABC at 9:30 p.m. right after “Modern Family” Wednesday.

The show’s four-minute pilot promo highlights the close friendship of six best friends who struggle with their own comedic crises, including those of Penny (Casey Wilson), a single and lonely, just-turned 30-year-old gir, who tries “JDate,” a Jewish blind dating site out of desperation. Hilarity ensues when she spends all night trying to hide the fact that she’s in fact Catholic and not 26 like her date believes.

The premise of “Happy Endings” stems off of a broken wedding. The bride, Alex (Cuthbert), gets cold feet at the altar when a disheveled yet handsome man skates in on rollerblades to crash the wedding and pronounce his love to her.

Former groom Dave (Zachary Knighton) spends the next week sobbing as he surrounds himself with opened wedding gifts and high school rebound girlfriends.

A week later, he is greeted at the door by his honeymooner former fiancé, who is decked out with a new tropical tan and a head full of tourist braids.

The comedy also stars Eliza Coupe, Adam Pally, and Damon Wayans Jr.
