Now famous for having starring roles in their sister’s royal wedding, Pippa and James Middleton will not surrender their dignity and elegance without fighting for it first, the Telegraph reports.

“The whole family is furious at what they see as a betrayal,” says a friend of the Middletons. Reportedly, the family is “taking action” after inappropriate pictures of Pippa and James were leaked on the Internet.

The family is under the impression that the photographs were taken by close friends of Pippa and James and then sold for a substantial amount of money. The pictures have now been taken down from most circulation after copyright issues arose.

“The images were withdrawn from the entire market,” says John Camarillo, of Zuma Press, an American picture agency. “They were only on the market for a few days. They got too popular and that’s why they were withdrawn.”

In one of the photos, which has been widely seen here in America, a suntanned Pippa, 27, is shown wearing a flimsy lavender-colored bra and a sheer skirt as she dances wildly in front of a man who is also donning underwear.

Unfortunately for James, the pictures that were taken of him are even more embarrassing. In one shot, the 23-year-old bachelor who owns his own cake-making business, was photographed with his hand down his boxers. In another picture, James is entirely naked, luckily for his dignity, his legs are crossed in the shot.

“James and Pippa are really embarrassed,” their friend admits. “How were they supposed to know when these pictures were taken that they would be put under such scrutiny?”

Carole Middleton, the mother of the provocative siblings and Kate, is troubled by the photographs. She once spoke to Mandrake in 2008 about her concerns over being scrutinized by the media. “I feel very vulnerable about everything. I’m not a celebrity and don’t want to be one. I haven’t asked for all this. I’m also worried for my family: I have three children – not just Catherine.”
