The man who said he would never marry has finally proposed.
Simmons, front man of KISS once boasted he had sex with thousands of women. In the season finale of “Gene Simmons’ Family Jewels” he got down on one knee and asked long-time girlfriend and mother of Simmons’ two children, Shannon Tweed, to marry him.
“I come with so much baggage, but you’re the only friend I’ve got. You’re the only one I have ever loved,” he told a choked up Tweed. “Please marry me.”
This was quite the surprise considering the rocky relationship seen on their reality show earlier this season. Simmons and the former Playmate of the Year, Shannon Tweed, have been dating for almost three decades but viewers thought that would soon end as they watched Tweed move out of the mansion they once shared. Most notable was their interview on “Today” possibly, one of the most awkward interviews ever.

As we previously reported, during the interview, the hosts shared a picture of Simmons walking arm in arm with two women, let’s just say they weren’t ugly. One of the hosts asked Simmons if he knew them and Simmons answered he didn’t. Tweed corrected him, “He didn’t know their names.”

The hosts asked Tweed the status of their relationship. Tweed answered,”I don’t want to give away everything, but it’s not looking great.” Looking back, Tweed and Simmons’ interview seems more like a publicity stunt than anything else.
