Former ‘American Idol’ contestant Pia Toscano has just released her newest video for “This Time.”
It comes at the same time the ‘American Idol’ winner, Scotty McCreery, releases his first video for his debut single, ‘I Love You This Big.’
Pia’s single “This Time,” follows a stint on “American Idol,” which she was axed from surprisingly early in the season. Her new single is being showcased on the summer’s American Idol Live! Tour and comes off of her debut album, which is set for release later this year.
She played the single for the first time on the radio on “On Air with Ryan Seacrest,” earlier this summer. Pia told Seacrest, “This song is a journey of self discovery for me. Its an empowerment kind of song. I feel like its a ladies anthem. It pertains to my journey on American Idol to a relationship. This is my time. I can’t believe I’m allowed this opportunity.”
Back in April, Toscano was voted off of “American Idol,” shocking viewers and judges. Jennifer Lopez said “I have no idea. I have no idea what just happened here. I’m shocked. I’m angry. I don’t even know what to say.” Randy Jackson mouthed “no, no” as Ryan Seacrest announced she would be leaving and Steven Tyler was also in disagreement with the final decision, “They’re wrong,” he said, “I don’t know what happened with this.
