Simba’s heading back to the big screen! After years of going into the “vault,” this weekend the Disney movie will be released again in theaters, only the difference will be viewers will be wearing 3D glasses.
Lion King 3D will give viewers a chance to experience the beloved Disney movie again in a whole new way.

The 3D version hits theaters across the country, this Friday, September 16.

Along with the 3D version being released in theaters, “The Lion King” will get a Blu-ray release on November 15.
The movie was first released in 1994, as the 32nd film in the Walt Disney Animated Classics during the Disney Renaissance. The story was the sixth highest grossing animated film and continues to be the highest grossing hand drawn animation in history.
The movie was said to be inspired by Shakespeare’s Hamlet.
