A streaker jumped on stage at the MTV Europe Music Awards Sunday night surprising the crowd, and presenter, Hayden Panettiere.
The actress was announcing the Best Song, which Lady Gaga won, when a streaker ran from backstage.
According to the Huffington Post, the naked man was later identified as Irish actor David Monohan and eventually reached the former “Heroes” star, covered up and began a bizarre conversation.
“Hello, apparently the only way out is back that way,” said Monohan, to which Hayden apologized.
“I’m a big fan,” he told Panettiere of her cancelled show.
“Thank you, you should come grab a pint with us after,” she said.
“I would love that,” he told the actress. “I don’t have my phone on me, though. You know what, I’ll just leave you to it, and I’ll see you at the aftershow.”
He then ran backstage.
“Well that was different,” said Panettiere.
Following the incident, many accused MTV of a setup and rumors are swirling that it was staged.
The 24-year-old claims that the streak was not rehearsed and not planned.
The actor, from Belfast, denied that it was rehearsed and told UK’s Daily Mail, “Two friends of mine work for the security company, they got me in but they didn’t know I was going to storm the stage.”
“I undressed in a backstage store room and considering Lady Gaga is walking about with a flying saucer on her head, not many people notice a guy with a black blanket wrapped around him,” he added.
