Picture 2

Picture 2“The Cabin in the Woods” highly-anticipated and greatly-delayed trailer just debuted this week.

Monday, the trailer went viral and viewers got their first glimpse of the thriller.

The film, that stars Chris Hemsworth before his days as Thor, was first slated to be released in 2009 but due to financial problems, among other things, it was delayed a few years.

According to Movie-List, along with Hemsworth, the movie stars Kristen Connolly, Anna Hutchison, Fran Kranz, Jesse Williams, Richard Jenkins, and Bradley Whitford.

The movie was directed by Drew Goddard, of Cloverfield fame. According to Deadline, along with Goddard, the movie was co-written by Joss Whedon.

The movie follows a group of very attractive young folks as they head to a cabin “off the grid” for a vacation. The trailer shows the group on their way to the retreat, stopping at a gas station, whose attendant hints at their fate.

The group pushes on and arrives at the desolate cabin only to find horror awaiting them. According to the Hollywood Reporter, while the trailer shows a lot, it doesn’t explain exactly what is coming after them, though it’s clear that there is someone controlling the cabin, making bad things happen—The trailer shows clips of the gas station attendant in a control room watching over the young people as they fight for their lives.

The movie is set to hit the big screen April 13, 2012.
