Demi Moore was reportedly hospitalized earlier this week and has since, checked into rehab and dropped out of the upcoming film “Lovelace.”

According to Deadline, Demi Moore’s publicist confirmed the news and released a statement:

“Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health. She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends.”

Moore was set to play feminist activist-author Gloria Steinem in a new film about the porn star Linda Lovelace.

Lovelace, whose real name was Linda Boreman, was a adult film star who became most famous for the 70s flick “Deep Throat.” Lovelace later claimed her first husband forced her into the pornography industry and opted for a career as a spokeswoman for the anti-pornography movement.

Moore was set to make a short appearance in the film that stars Amanda Seyfried, who plays Lovelace, Peter Sarsgaard and Adam Brody.

The news follows that of Demi being rushed to the hospital Monday for reported substance abuse to blame.

TMZ reported that a 911 call was placed late Monday night and paramedics responded to Demi’s L.A. home, later transporting her to a local hospital.

It’s not the first time Moore’s been in the headlines, her increasingly skinny figure, and impending divorce have been the target of many tabloids in recent months.

In November, news broke that Moore would be divorcing hubby, Ashton Kutcher. The two were married six years but after Kutcher has been linked to a string of scandals, the two announced they would be calling it quits.

November 17, Moore filed for divorce from her actor husband, Ashton Kutcher.

“I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi. Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail, Love and Light, AK,” tweeted Kutcher.
