Cops: Central Islip Man Fled DWI Crashes

A Central Islip man was arrested for causing a two-car pileup and crashing head on into another car after driving intoxicated and traveling the wrong way on the Southern State Parkway, cops say.

Luis Quintanilla, 40, was driving a Ford north on Route 111 at Spur Drive North in Central Islip when he rear-ended a Pontiac, driven by John Doyle, 41, of Lake Grove. Doyle’s vehicle then struck another, a Dodge driven by 29-year-old Jonathan Sessa.

After causing the pileup, Quintanilla caused even more havoc when he fled the scene and entered the westbound Southern State Parkway, traveling in an eastbound direction. Quintanilla’s Ford crashed head on into a Saturn, driven by 36-year-old Richard Foos of North Babylon.

Doyle, Sessa and Foos were all transported to local hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Third Squad detectives charged Quintanilla with Driving While Intoxicated. He is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip today.
