Can you imagine walking down your driveway and innocently sending a text when you look up and see a 400-pound black bear staring back at you?

Sounds quite ludicrous, but a California man encountered a black bear in his driveway.

Texting and walking is thought to be dangerous, but no one thought it could be this potentially hazardous!

Vaz Terdandenyan explained to KTLA-TV that he was walking through his driveway in La Crescenta, Calif., on Tuesday when he noticed the 400-pound beast in front of him and quickly ran in the other direction to get away.

“I got up this morning from helicopter noise and I was trying to see what was going on,” Terdandenyan told the TV station. “I was texting my boss that I would be late for work because something is going on, and I’m coming down the stairs and I see the bear coming up the stairs toward me.”

Looks like his boss has some good proof!

Luckily the bear was in a good mood and did not attack Terdandenyan. KTLA had been capturing it strolling aimlessly through the neighborhood.

“I turned back and I ran for my life,” Terandenyan told the station. “I guess running for a marathon came in handy because I was in shape to run away!”

After the bear found his way into one of Terandenyan’s neighbor’s backyard, officials were able to nab the wandering bear.

According to reports the black bear needed three tranquilizer darts before it eventually fell asleep. It was then loaded into a “culvert trap,” according to the Department of Fish and Game officials who spoke to KTLA.

The black bear was later released deep inside the Angeles National Forest.

What would you do if you encountered a 400-pound black bear in your driveway?
