Picture 37“Flat out rally crash!” reads the caption of a wicked crash video that is climbing the YouTube charts this week.

The crash reportedly takes place at the 2012 Rallye Perce-Neige in Canada, and shows a car speeding down a snow-ridden slope only to skid and crash into a hydro pole backwards.

Scary to say the least for the driver.

Miraculously, the pole was no big deal for the car, which popped back into the slope and continued the race. Even more surprising, the car finished second.

“We went off at 225 km/h and hit a hydro pole. The car should have been destroyed, but we fought back to finish second!” reads the caption. “The most extreme accident in my racing career.”

The driver is reportedly Leo Urlicich whose 2007 Subaru Impreza STI named “The Beast” spins out and crashes into the pole.

His run was plagued with problems and according to World Rally Sport, he started as the first car on the road but picked up 6 minutes worth of penalties early on and dropped to 37th position overall only to damage his car during the crash.

Though he had a tough beginning, the driver claimed 9th place overall and he told World Rally Sport that the damage was mostly cosmetic and that he would continue the event.

The crash was caught on cameras and a video of it was later posted to YouTube. It has since, been spreading like wildfire across the waves of the Internet with over 500,000 having viewed the crash footage.

Check it out. What do you think of the crash?
