Choral Society’s Spring Concert

The Huntington Choral Society kicks off the season with a performance of G.F. Handel’s “Samson.” Under the direction of Steven Finch, there will be a full orchestra as well as soloists. The concert begins at 8 p.m. at Huntington High School. Tickets for adults are $20, free for students.

Babies & BimBam

A fun, interactive class coming up at HANC Plainview for children turning two by Dec. 31. Cost is $50 for six classes or pay-as-you-go for $10 per class. Classes will be meeting on Friday mornings from 10 to 11 a.m. For more information contact shecht@hanc.org or call 681-5922.

Miscarriage Support Group

A safe, confidential, supportive environment to talk about what you have been through, reactions and feelings and how to move forward. You are not alone! Facilitated by a professional therapist. Free Veterinary Lectures

Once a month through December, Long Island Cat Fanciers sponsors free lectures given by top local veterinarians on topics relevant to dog and cat owners. All members of the public are welcome to attend. The lectures are generally held on the first Monday of each month at the Town of Oyster Bay Syosset-Woodbury Community Center, 7900 Jericho Tpke., Woodbury, at 7:45 p.m. For more information, call 631-277-3844.

Sign Language Classes

American Sign Language (ASL) classes will be offered by Mill Neck Services for deaf adults on Mondays from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Jan. 7 through March 25, 2013. The 10 sessions of the Level 1 Adult class are being held at the Day Habilitation and Interpreter Services building located at 501 S. Broadway, Suite B, Hicksville. Sign language interpreters will be available for guests who are deaf, provided a request is made in advance.

Clutterers Anonymous

Clutterers Anonymous (CLA), a 12-step self-help group, offers help and support to those who have clutter problems in their homes or workplace. Meets every Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Plainview-Old Bethpage Library, 999 Old Country Rd., in Plainview. There are no dues or fees. •Plainview-Old Bethpage Community Chorus welcomes new members. Meetings are held Monday nights at 7:30 p.m. in the choral room of POB Middle School. All voices are needed and no experience is necessary. Rehearsals run from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. For information call 931-4377 or 935-6243.

•POB Senior Citizen Club meeting from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fridays in the All-Purpose Room at the Jamaica Avenue School, 85 Jamaica Ave. For information call 937-6424. Members must be 60 years or older, residing in the POB S.D. are eligible. Bring school tax bill as proof of residency. Dues is $20. New members welcome.


Monthly Events

•The LI Psoriasis Network Meetup Group will get together in the second floor In-Service Classroom of North Shore University at Plainview, 888 Old Country Rd., on the first Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. All are welcome. No cost. More information is available at http://psoriasis.meetup.com/24/

•Golf for Singles Adults, a group of 50 + single seniors meet the third Tuesday of every month, at 7:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, Sunnyside Blvd., Plainview. For info call 942-4228. The group plays on courses, mostly in Suffolk on the weekends as well as during the week.

•Plainview Republican Club meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 8  p.m., downstairs at the American Legion Hall, 115 Southern Pky. Connect with new friends and attend enjoyable events throughout the year. Everyone is welcome. Call Steve Joyce 644-0486.

•Introduction to Chemotherapy, a monthly information session for cancer patients who are beginning chemotherapy treatments. Family members are welcome. Refreshments served. Meets on the third Wednesday of the month at 7:30 p.m. in the Patient’s Lounge on 3-West at North Shore University Hospital at Plainview, 888 Old Country Rd. •Cancer Survivors Support Group offered for survivors and their families at North Shore Hospital at Plainview, 888 Old Country Rd. The group is free and meets on the second Thursday of each month from 6 to 8 p.m. and includes all cancers. Call Barbara for further information 541-4673.

•LI Stock Traders Meetup Group held on the second Thursday of every month from 6:45 to 9:15 p.m. in the Plainview-Old Bethpage Library auditorium, 999 Old Country Rd.

•Jewish War Veterans, Gieir-Levitt Post #655 invite all Jewish war veterans to join them at the Mid-Island Y JCC, 45 Manetto Hill Rd., at 9 a.m. on the second Sunday of every month. Call Larry Sklar 942-3327. Come for a free breakfast.
