Ten ducklings trapped in a storm drain at Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove were reunited with their mother after Suffolk County police officers rescued them Saturday morning, police said.

At 8:40 a.m., police received a 911 call regarding the trapped ducklings, police said. Two officers from Suffolk police’s Emergency Services Section and a Fourth Precinct officer responded to the call, police said.

Emergency services used a crowbar to remove a heavy gate and one of the officers then went down the stairs to retrieve the group of ducklings.

The young ducks were then reunited with their mother, police said.
