Suffolk County police are looking for a hit-and-run driver that killed a pedestrian and fled the scene in Huntington Station early Sunday morning.
A man was crossing New York Avenue when he was struck by a southbound vehicle north of East 12th Street shortly after 3 a.m.
The victim, whose identity was not immediately released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The vehicle was described as a full-sized dark colored sedan.
Vehicular Crime Unit detectives are continuing the investigation and ask anyone with information about the crash to contact them at 631-852-6555 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
