A 51-year-old man was struck and seriously wounded by a hit-and-run driver in Roslyn on Monday evening, Nassau County police said.
The victim was crossing Northern Boulevard when he was struck by an eastbound navy blue, late model Mercedes Benz driven by a suspect who continued without stopping shortly after 6 p.m., police said.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a head injury. The vehicle sustained front end damage and is missing the driver side view mirror.
