A 25-year-old man was killed when he crashed his vehicle into a utility pole in Oceanside early Sunday morning.
Nassau County police said the driver of a Toyota was heading westbound on Atlantic Avenue when the vehicle struck a curb and then hit a pole near the corner of Brower Avenue at 3 a.m.
The driver was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead three hours later.
His name was not immediately available.
Fourth Squad detectives impounded the vehicle for brake and safety checks but found no apparent criminality.
