Elmont Murder Convict Gets 25 to Life

A Far Rockaway man was sentenced Monday to 25 years to life in prison for killing a 29-year-old man and wounding a 51-year-old grandmother in a shooting in Elmont two years ago.

Wilfred Labossiere had been convicted at Nassau County court in March of second-degree murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

Prosecutors said the 33-year-old man gunned down Christopher Mullings of Roosevelt during a fight over visitation of the gunman’s 3-year-old son in November 2012.

Mullings was pronounced dead at the scene. Labossiere drove the grandmother to a local hospital before he fled the scene.

Police apprehended Labossiere shortly later.
