Suffolk County police are investigating an armed home invasion in Bayport last week.

A resident was returning their apartment on Terrace Road when they were approached by two people armed with a firearm and a struggled ensured that spilled inside at 10:30 p.m. Monday, July 14, police said.

The assailants fled empty handed following the brief altercation. The victim was not injured. There was no description of the suspects and no arrests have been made.

Fifth Squad detectives are continuing the investigation.
