The Padre Pio Assembly 2718 held their annual Gala Christmas/Testimonial Dinner earlier this month at Memorare Council, honoring Michael A. Haas, Past Faithful Navigator. Haas served as navigator leading the assembly from 2013 to 2014. He was honored for his hard work, dedication and many other contributions during his term as navigator.
Haas was presented with several citations from Governor Andrew Cuomo, Congressman Peter King and Town Supervisor Kate Murray. He was also presented with the Navigator Sword of the Padre Pio Assembly and a plaque in his honor.
The Padre Pio Assembly was formed in 2001 with respect to a miracle from God through the intercession of St. Padre Pio to Anthony Fuina, who was elected the First Faithful Navigator of the assembly. St. Pio is recognized today by many followers for his intercessory prayers to God.
