Student Goes To Nationals

Alyssa Mustafa has now earned All-State and All-Eastern recognition as a member of the Island Trees Winter Track & Field Team. She received these accolades last week by taking second place at both the state meet at Cornell University and the Eastern meet at the New York Armory in early March. Mustafa competes in the long jump where she continues to redefine our schools distance record. Currently, she is jumping 18’ 7.5.”

This Friday, Mustafa will have a chance on becoming All-National when she competes at the United States Nationals. If she succeeds, Mustafa will be the first person from Island Trees to have accomplished this spectacular honor. She has been well prepared by her two winter coaches, Fred and Kate DeRuvo.

Good luck to you, Alyssa, as your achievements continue to pile up.
