Summer Gazebo Concert Series
Garden City’s Department of Recreation and Parks is please to announce its Gazebo Concert Series on the village green (corner of Stewart and Hilton Avenues.) This week, The Clusters perform. All concerts begin at 7:15 p.m. Bring chairs or blankets. Concerts are held rain or shine. In the event of less than perfect weather, the concert will be held at the Cultural and Performing Arts Center in St. Paul’s Cluett Hall at 295 Stewart Ave.

Friday Night Promenade
Every Friday during the summer, Seventh Street will be closed for the “Friday Night Promenades”, from 6 until 10 p.m. There will outdoor dining, live entertainment, face painting, balloon animals and much more on Seventh Street. Shops will remain open during the evening for everyone’s convenience.

Marvelous Movie Matinée
A screening of the 2006 dramedy road film Little Miss Sunshine starring Greg Kinnear, Steve Carell, Toni Collette and Alan Arkin will be held from 1:30 to 4 p.m. at the Garden City Public Library. The event will be held in meeting room B. Funding is provided by the Friends of the Garden City Public Library. Board Of Library Trustees Meeting

YA End Of Summer Party
All young adults who completed the summer Reading club and/or volunteered at the Teens & Tots Storytime at the Garden City Pool will receive invitations to a Back-to-School Bash pizza party with raffles. Magic of Amore will provide a show “Unmask Your Hidden Potential” which will explore how the Young Adult mind works and enhance study skills. The party will be held in Meeting Room B (large). Furniture Needed
The A.T.Stewart Exchange Consignment Shop at 109 Eleventh St. in Garden City is looking for furniture to add to its inventory. The shop can use cocktail tables, end tables, consoles, chairs of all types, dressers, dining room tables, breakfronts, servers, secretaries, mirrors, etc….it’s all in demand. If you have a particularly large piece, take a picture and show it to Maryann Caterino at the shop (516-746-8900). Consignees are paid 50 percent of the selling price. The shop is conveniently located on the lower level of The Garden City Historical Society Museum. All proceeds from the A.T.Stewart Consignment Shop go towards the maintenance and upkeep of the Garden City Historical Society Museum.
