Riverhead Man Killed in Shooting

A 27-year-old man was shot to death in his hometown of Riverhead on Tuesday night, Suffolk County police said.

Southampton Town Police officers and the New York State Troopers responded to a 911 call of shots fired at an Old Quogue Road home, and upon arrival they found Thomas Lacolla dead of gunshot wounds in a parked Mercedes Benz at 9:37 p.m.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide Squad detectives are continuing the investigation and ask anyone with information on the shooting to call them at 631-852-6394 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
