The New Hyde Park-Mineola Runners and Walkers Club recently held its first Halloween Costume Party. Members and guests dressed in creative costumes. Put someone in a costume and they reveal a side of themselves that is seldom seen.
Prizes were handed out for “Best Costume,” “Best Couples Costume,” “Best Costume Character Role,” “Creepiest Costume,” and “Best Monster Mash.”
Each guest received a goody bag designed by our own resident artist, Chris, who hand painted each and every one and then stuffed them in a coffin for distribution.
Runners and walkers can dance all night.
Piccola Bussola in Mineola was decorated by our own club members with some of the deepest, darkest, and creepiest props.
Lois, Robin, Lorraine, and I created a fun and festive atmosphere for the party goers,” Madeline Phelan said. “It was decorating genius, if I say so myself. Couldn’t have had the party without the perfect invitation, so I’d like to thank Emily for a fantastic and comical party invitation flyer. And who could forget the arrival of Batman (aka Joe) to save the day and help with the check in of our guests, even though he was running a marathon the next day.”
