Sanitation Worries In Roslyn Heights

An Roslyn Heights resident has contacted The Roslyn News to express concern over the sanitation situation at the mall on Willis Avenue, one that houses both a CVS pharmacy an a Starbucks franchise.

The resident said that garbage cans were “overflowing” and that garbage was making its way on walkways and onto private properties surrounding the two stores.

A manager at Starbucks said that the sidewallks outside of that establishment are clean and are swept every morning. Garbage is placed in a dumpster and trash is picked up by crews from The Town of North Hempstead.

A manager at CVS said pretty much the same thing, namely that the pharmacy cleans the sidewalk every morning and takes the trash to the same dumpster. Shoppers admitted that with a Starbucks and a McDonald’s nearby, there is indeed trash circulating around the lots, but managers at both establishments pledge to keep their interiors and exteriors as clean as possible. “We’ll keep an extra eye n it [the garbage],” the Starbucks manager said.
