Lecture
The Bar Harbor library will host a lecture by Ira Epstein titled “Comedy Duos-The Smothers Brothers,” at 2 p.m. The lecture will explore their unique brand of humor through the use of numerous audio and visual clips.

St. Patrick’s Day
Enjoy a pint and some corned beef and cabbage at your local Irish pub.

Board of Education Meeting
The third board of education meeting for Massapequa Public Schools meeting will discuss limits under the New York State property tax cap, state aid and other information released from the governor’s executive budget that may impact the proposed school budget. The meeting will be held in Massapequa High School’s Baldwin Auditorium, beginning at 8 p.m.

Spring Fair
St. William the Abbot’s 16th annual spring fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Msgr. Thomas G. Leavy Auditorium at the St. William the Abbot School, located at 2001 Jackson Ave., Seaford. Easter plants, raffle baskets, a 50/50, baked goods, hot and cold food and pictures with the Easter Bunny will also be available. Contact Gail Tomczyk at 516-795-4542.

Town of Oyster Bay Polar PlungeMassCal_031616B
Registration for the third annual Town of Oyster Bay Polar Plunge is between 9:30 and 11 a.m., with the plunge starting at 11:30 a.m. at TOBAY Beach. Help raise money for the athletes of Special Olympics New York. Every Plunger that raises $125 receives an official Plunge sweatshirt. Workshop
The Bar Harbour library will host an Island Harvest Food Bank SNAP workshop from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Bar Harbour auditorium.  SNAP helps stretch your food dollars and budget with a monthly benefit on a debit-like card that can be used to purchase food at a local grocery store. Teen Takeover Mondays
Every Monday from 3:30 to 5 p.m., teens get to take over the auditorium. Enjoy open play with video games on Wii U & XBOX 360, play Minecraft, check out the collection of board games and hang out with friends every Monday in the Bar Harbour auditorium. Movie: Bridge of Spies
The Bar Harbour auditorium will show a 1:30 and 6:30 p.m. screening of the Academy Award nominated movie. Bridge of Spies. A dramatic thriller set against the backdrop of a series of historic events, Bridge of Spies tells the story of James Donovan, a Brooklyn lawyer who finds himself thrust into the center of the Cold War when the CIA sends him on the near-impossible task to negotiate the release of a captured American U-2 pilot. Starring Tom Hanks, Mark Rylance and Alan Alda. (2015; PG-13 2 hrs 20 mins)

Massapequa Park Village Blood Drive
Come down to Village Hall to donate blood from 2 to 8 p.m. All blood types are needed, especially O positive and O negative. Refreshments will be provided. Village Hall is located at 151 Front St., Massapequa Park. Must be between 17 and 75 years old, 16 with parental permission and 76 or older with a doctor’s note. Must also weigh at least 110 pounds and not have donated within the last 56 days. Through Aug. 29.

Carnival Volunteers Needed
Volunteer applications for Plainedge School District students in grades five and up are still available in the children’s department for the library’s Spring Into Reading Carnival scheduled for Wednesday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Carnival volunteer spots are filled on a first come, first serve basis.
