I am writing to urge your readers to support Bill Keller for library trustee. I can think of no one better suited for the position. I have known Bill all my life. We grew up together in Port Washington. I know Bill to be a person of the utmost intelligence and integrity. He loves Port; in fact, after living elsewhere for a number of years, he decided to settle in Port. He chose Port for many reasons, including his love of the community and his respect for our school system. Bill’s youngest son has grown up here, receiving an excellent education at Salem, Weber and now, Schreiber. In addition, Bill is active in the community, serving on the Education Foundation Advisory Board and on the Port Washington School District Legislative and Governmental Affairs Committee.
On a professional level, Bill is the vice president for finance and administration at Queens College. He is responsible for budgeting, technology, facilities operations and construction, human resources and strategic planning.
In the years ahead, the library may face new challenges. Bill’s expertise and experience, as well as his love of our town, make him ideally suited to serve as library trustee. He will take his charge and devote himself to doing the best job he can. The library would be lucky to have him on its board. So vote for Bill on April 12. —Amy Booth
