Yard sale season is officially kicking off—don’t miss this treasure trove at 108 Wilson Place in Plainview, Saturday, April 30, and Sunday, May 1, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Items include a dining room table and chairs, farm table, Elite mirrors, a complete set of dishes, skis, chandelier, left-handed golf clubs, outwear, outdoor furniture, movies, rugs, Queen Anne chair with ottoman, knick knacks and much more. 0

Adult Game & Coloring Time

The Jericho library invites the community to bring games and friends for an afternoon of fun and relaxation from 1 to 4 p.m. . If you play Canasta, Mah Jongg, Scrabble or any other games, we are setting up the meeting room with tables, chairs and refreshments. We will also have coloring pages and pencils—or bring your own—for a colorful afternoon.

Joyce Tobkes returns to the Syosset library for a free senior peer group discussions on facing some of the challenges of getting older. No registration necessary. Event is from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Temple Club Night

Temple Or Elohim, 18 Tobie Lane in Jericho, presents another night of cocktail buffets, open bars, all-night DJ and dancing at Club Night from 8 p.m. until who knows when. Invite your family and friends to this event, but RSVP by April 29. Cost is $60 per person in advance, $70 at the door. The Syosset library hosts this free event on how to use LinkedIn for job searches at 10 a.m. Presenter Karen McKenna of Career Visionary LLC presents how to use this powerful social media platform for professional networking. Participants will learn how to create a strong LinkedIn profile and use its powerful features to build strategic networking connections.

Ines Powell returns to the Syosset library for this free art lecture at 2 p.m. The Camino de Santiago, also known in English as the Route of Santiago is the name of the pilgrimage route to the shrine of the apostle St. James the Great in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia in Northwestern Spain. Journey through the history of Spain.

Reducing The Stigma Of Mental Illness

The Syosset library welcomes the Players from the Mental Health Association of Nassau County for this free program at 1 p.m. The Players will perform improvisational vignettes concerning mental health. Conversation about mental health scenarios and situations occurs through the Q&A discussion. The vignettes are: “Non-Independence Day,” “Let’s do Lunch” and “Money from Grandma.”
