Bellport Man Shoots Sons, Kills Self, Cops Say

A 61-year-old man shot and wounded his two sons before fatally shooting himself when an argument with his family escalated in their Bellport home on Sunday night, Suffolk County police said.

Irvin Noak’s adult sons intervened when their father got involved in an argument with other family members during a party at his Fox Glove Circle home before Noak retrieved a handgun from his bedroom, shot his sons and killed himself at 11:10 p.m., police said.

The father was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue, where he was pronounced dead. The sons, 30-year-old Irvin Noak III and 22-year-old Aaron Noak, who also live at the home, were taken to the same hospital, where they were admitted in critical condition.

No other injuries were reported. Homicide Squad detectives are continuing the investigation.
